Landlord Locks – Quick Re-keying Systems
Need to change the locks between tenant move-outs or move-ins? Have a tenant that wants their locks changed because a co-tentant moved out? One of the biggest headaches for landlords is lock changes! The Kwikset SmartKey system makes changing locks a 30 second task, rather than 30 minutes (or longer!).
Quickset makes SmartKey doorknobs and deadbolts in a variety of styles and finishes to match your rental units. Here is a traditional doorknob and deadbolt set that we have used on many of our properties, when you don’t need a commercial, or handicapped accessible lockset…
On the other hand, if you need something that meets commercial standards (and can be used for residential units, too), then this is another set we have personally used at our properties and has worked well for us…

This makes it easier you want to give access on an ongoing basis to contractors, inspectors, etc. (It’s important to note that some rentals, usually commercial or larger mulit-unit properties may be required to have emergency access boxes for the local fire department. This are often specific lock boxes, like KnoxBox.)

Here’s a permanently mounted wall lockbox. They come in different sizes… so if you need to fit more than a couple of keys in a box, you may want to opt for one of the larger size lockboxs:
