Yes, it’s true, I am a big believer that many landlords can do it themselves! However, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Whether it’s a time factor, distance issue, stress level, personality trait or some other reason… using an excellent property manager may make sense. Notice I say “excellent”. The last thing you want to do is hire a property manager than is lazy and incompetent, doesn’t deal effectively with tenants, doesn’t address issues on a timely basis, charges unreasonable fees and drives your properties into the ground!
